Mi Casa es Su Casa

Are the churches we go to relevent?...Meaning do they look anything like what Jesus intended for them to be? While drinking my afternoon coffee today, I read an arcticle on the early church. Say you lived in a cave by yourself with just a Bible and all you knew of "church" was what you read inside that book. What would you expect when you finally walked into one of our churches today?
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:42-47

I want an Acts 2 church!! I can't come up with any reason why God wouldn't want the Church to look like it did in the beginning. I have decided that I am committed to seeing this happen in my life. I can't control if others break bread together or sell their possessions and I can't make miracles happen but I can do what I need to take care of others' needs. And so right now I lay all that I have at your feet. I surrender the keys to my cars, house, and bank account to you...what is mine is yours. If anything happens to you I will care for your elderly parents and your children as though they were my own. If you need a place to rest or to be fed you are welcome in my home and at my table.
"I in them and You in Me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me." John 17:23
Here are some pictures of our lives as of late:
Harvest is pouring in!! I picked tomatoes at least every other day during the past month and got a wagon full each time. It feels good to have a full freezer.
Julianna had her 3rd birthday party. We had a rainbow/colors theme since she is all about colors right now! Luke and Deb helped us out and put on a great puppet show with a skit about the salvation colors...Everyone really loved it!--thanks Schmutz!!
We also recently made a trip to the zoo... it was a perfect day

I'm a good floater too...
