Peek at my Pad....let's just get on this band wagon

This last week, we finally got carpet put in our living room!! Really, I love the look of hard wood and tiled floors but when it comes to a lounging room, you can't beat the feel of carpet. With hard floors, I never feel like it is clean enough because no matter how much I sweep I will always feel those little grains of dirt under my bare feet. With carpet at least those annoying grains are hidden in the weave. Is that gross?...maybe.

We had tile in this room before but it was so cold and seemed to throw off the feng shui. It always felt gloomy and drab in this room. Last fall I got ambitious and picked up all of the HEAVY tile in a couple of days while Micah was at work. Despite what this picture looks like I did manage to save most of the tile to be used later. We had planned on getting carpet before Christmas but the finances didn't seem to pan out. So....denying ourselves until the time was right we lived with this nakedness.

Last week we decided to take the plunge and ordered carpet to be installed. We had 3 days to get everything ready. We even put Jules to work.

Our New Addition

We now have a goat.... Jennifer.
(pre-named-- to assure any Jennifers that I may know, you do not remind me of a goat). Here she is feeling the freedom of figuring out how to escape her pen. She absconded somewhere between 7:45am and 2:30pm Sunday; however, she chose to stay close to the barn. I am very impressed with this considering what she was put through yesterday.
We bought her from a farm near Ashton, IA (1 1/2 hrs away) and she rode home contentedly in the back of our Jeep, bumps and all. When we arrived home, our miniature horse greeted her by trying to bite her, repeatedly.

Anyway, she is sweet, gentle and expecting at least one little one in the end of March. I am hoping to try my hand at milking...we'll see how this goes.

BTW...I now have the fence secured and Piccolo (the horse) has decided to set aside their differences.

My friend Charity also has a new arrival at her house... Her's really is showing much more potential than mine.

Bedtime Conversations

Jules: I have brothers and sisters.

Daddy: How many brothers and sisters do you have?

Jules: (holds up 5 fingers)

Daddy: (To Mom) Is that prophetic?

Jules: (holds up all 10 fingers)

Mommy: Whoa

Daddy: Where are they?

Jules: They live in...Mexico
